Paronychia lundellorum
  • clump-forming perennial with numerous stems usually 8 inches tall or less
  • not conspicuous- see plant to right of pen
  • leaves opposite, linear, less than 3/4 inch long
  • flowers tiny, at tips of branches and in upper leaf axils
  • sepals 5, yellowish, petal-like; true petals absent
  • found on inland saline soils along brackish ponds and waterways on the South Texas Sand Sheet in Brooks, Kenedy and Kleberg counties
  • relationship with bristle nailwort (Paronychia setacea)—also a Texas endemic—unclear
