- tall, conspicuous forb with stem often 2-3 feet tall
- leaves finely dissected
- flowers at tips of upper branches, creamy white
- involucre (flower cup) finely hairy on outside
- endemic to the post oak belts of south-central Texas
- mostly on Carrizo Sand
- blooms in spring
