  • similar to Callisia repens, which has white petals and hairless filaments
  • colony-forming perennial with creeping fleshy stems
  • leaves alternate, ovate, < 1 inch long and < half as wide
  • South Texas and northern Tamaulipas, often in shade of older mesquite in clayey to loamy soils
